WHO WE ARE

HAPPY – FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT:

Happy had always been inspired by Mother Teresa’s life-long commitment to serve the destitute, and poorest of the poor.   The legal papers for Happy’s Charity were drawn up and signed on 29th of January 2014.

“What we are doing may only be a drop in the ocean, but the ocean wouldn’t be the same without that drop”

“Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love”

“if you judge people, you have no time to love them”        Mother Teresa

FAMILY:

There are five members in my family, my mother, my wife Priyanka, younger brother Abhishek and my two daughters Susan and Angel. My mother and younger brother work at an engineering college.  Priyanka is a housewife but she is very artistic and loves creating bowls and fans out of natural raw material, she also ran the first sewing machine classes.

My parents left the fields of Bihar to live and serve in this community.    Apart from being a Baptist Minister, my father was also a social worker and helped solve the problems of our neighbours in our community and he loved to help the children in our school.  I am saying with great sadness that my father died on 27th September 2021, he was only 56.   He was loved and respected in our community and we all miss him very much.

VISION, MISSION AND VALUES

VISION

Our vision is to help children everywhere to have access to basic education through school, tuition and to help widows and the poor that they might all have opportunities to work, live well and to develop both spiritually and physically.

India is a country where many types of languages are spoken. There are many states, many types of castes, many types of religions.  India is like a bouquet of many types of flowers with different colours. But there is a lot of discrimination in caste and religion.   Children of every caste and religion come to our school to study. This is the first objective of me, my family, and our teacher, that all our children are given equal opportunities and the same chance to learn and receive an education.  The children sit together, they play and study together, there is no discrimination.

There are many children in India who cannot study and for many reasons spend their life in child labour, this may be working in factories or helping their families in the fields.   Many children live too far away from the nearest school and therefore they are unable to read. We want to build schools in these areas so that they can develop in their life and be free from poverty.

MISSION

To build schools or create opportunities for children and their community to receive an education in as many places in India as needed, to this end we totally rely on donations.
